TORONTO - If you wanted to show your support for Steven Stamkos and your burning desire to see him become a Maple Leaf Tuesday at the Air Canada Centre, you were welcome to it.
But it came with conditions.
The Lightning star – and pending free agent – unwittingly created additional unwanted attention to his first visit to his home town by “liking” a TSN tweet last week suggesting he would be a good fit here. This being Toronto (and with a week between games) it created a frenzy around Leafs Nation.
At the top of that list was a promotion by TSN Radio to hand fans entering the ACC signs saying “Sign Stamkos.
