We have two updates on the California Golden Bears assistant coaching front.
Cal had three assistant coaches on staff. As we know, Wyking Jones was promoted to the head coaching job. That leaves Timmy O’Toole and Tracy Webster.
O’Toole was rumored to be headed off to Washington to join new head coach Mike Hopkins, but Jones’s hire appears to have brought him back into the fold. The latest report indicates he will return to Cal.
As for Webster, it’s unlikely he will return to Cal. Webster coached with Cuonzo Martin at Cal, and coached with Cuonzo Martin at Tennessee, and could potentially join up with Martin in Missouri.
