The USA quartet of Ryan Murphy (backstroke), Cody Miller (breaststroke), Michael Phelps (butterfly), and Nathan Adrian (freestyle) continue USA’s dominance in the 4x100 Medley Relay. Since the event was first introduced in 1960 Rome games, USA has won the Gold every time.
Ryan Murphy set a new World Record leading off the relay. The United States then had to fend off a strong challenge by Great Britain.
