STANFORD, Calif. – Karla Popovic won twice on Saturday to remain unbeaten this season and reach the singles quarterfinals at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships presented by Oracle. The California junior improved to 17-0 after beating Washington's Katerina Kopcalic, 6-0, 6-2, in the round of 32 and Stanford's Emily Arbuthnott, 6-4, 6-2, in the round of 16 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
Popovic was also one of four Golden Bears to reach the round of 16 in doubles. The seventh-seeded pair of Popovic and sophomore Olivia Hauger defeated San Francisco's Hanna Borjeson and Joselyn Treyes, 8-0, in Saturday's round of 32.
