Put Utah Navajo activist Willie Grayeyes back on the ballot, judge orders San Juan County

A federal judge has ruled that San Juan County officials improperly invalidated the Democratic candidacy of Willie Grayeyes, a Bears Ears activist and Navajo tribal member, for County Commission.

Grayeyes’ attorney, Steven Boos, said U.S. District Court Judge David Nuffer had ordered his name back on the November ballot after a hearing Tuesday in Moab, FOX 13 reported.

“He’s pleased and I think he would say he hopes he would be in a position where he could ultimately do good for all the people in San Juan County when he’s on the commission,” Boos told Fox 13.
