New damages possible for judge in sexual-harassment case

Ogden • A federal appeals court will allow a Utah woman who won a sexual harassment claim against a former judge in Weber County to sue for additional damages.

The Standard-Examiner reported Tuesday the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals decided punitive damages should be on the table because there was evidence Judge Craig Storey knew his treatment of the court employee could constitute sexual harassment since he was a lawyer who also had taken repeated anti-harassment training.

The woman who first sued in 2010 has testified Storey twice rubbed his groin against her while she was trying to work, told her about an explicit dream and wrote an erotic poem about her.
