BYU football: Sitake hiring has energized Cougars' recruiting efforts

"Coach Sitake and the other coaches, as they've been added to the staff, have been out working hard in recruiting," said new director of recruiting Tevita Ofahengaue. "There is a lot of excitement about our program and our new staff. We expect to sign a full class on signing day."

That means BYU will announce 25 signings, although 8-10 of those could be returned, or returning, missionaries. Ofahengaue said offensive and defensive linemen and linebackers were the most targeted position groups.

In the Mendenhall era, the Cougars mostly had their prospects wrapped up well before the first Wednesday in February, and the day lacked suspense and intrigue.
