INDIANAPOLIS –Samantha Smith called it a dark year, an impossible year.
There were days when grief was overpowering. When getting out of bed was more than she could endure. When she had a question for God: Why? When she wondered what comes next.
Thursday marks the anniversary of the death of Samantha’s husband, Andrew Smith, the former Butler basketball player who so bravely and publicly battled cancer. He was 25. Samantha was often the face of that struggle, largely because of her blog, kickingcancerwiththesmiths.
