Insider: PG commit adds to Butler youth movement

INDIANAPOLIS – Basketball playing time at Butler just got more competitive.

The addition of point guard Aaron Thompson means the Bulldogs will have five incoming freshmen next season and seven new players. With 13 on scholarship, it is probable that one or two will end up redshirting.

Thompson of Fairfax, Va., committed to the Bulldogs on Tuesday. He was recently released from a letter of intent to attend Pittsburgh.

Thompson visited Butler’s campus Thursday and picked the Bulldogs after a weekend trip to VCU.
