Insider: Here is how Butler can begin NCAA tournament in Indianapolis

David Woods / IndyStar

INDIANAPOLIS – Victories in Pennsylvania and Ohio could send the Butler Bulldogs back home to Indiana for the NCAA tournament … depending on what happens in Kentucky.

Let us explain.

The 22nd-ranked Bulldogs, coming off a road upset of No. 2 Villanova, will go for their fourth successive win in Sunday’s game at Xavier.

Butler (22-6, 11-5) could equal its record for Big East wins, set in a 12-6 conference season two years ago. Xavier (18-10, 8-7) has lost four in a row.
