Gordon Hayward scores 39, joins Wilt Chamberlain with 16-of-16 shooting on 2-pointers

When you get an entry in the NBA records book next to Wilt Chamberlain, you have had a good night.

Gordon Hayward was 16-of-16 on two-point attempts Tuesday, equaling a career high of 39 points in the Boston Celtics’ 119-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The feat came in the same Cleveland arena where, little more than two years ago, he broke his leg and dislocated an ankle in a gruesome incident. That was his first game for the Celtics after leaving the Utah Jazz.

“I don’t think about it,” Hayward told the Boston Globe said.
