INDIANAPOLIS – Crown Point’s Jessica Carrothers, runner-up for IndyStar Miss Basketball, is following new coach Austin Parkinson to Butler.
Butler announced Saturday that Carrothers had signed with the Bulldogs. She had previously committed to IUPUI, where Parkinson coached before becoming the new Butler women’s coach a week ago.
Parkinson said Carrothers has been the best player in the state over the past two seasons.
"Plain and simple, she is a winner,” the coach said in a news release. “Jess appreciates what we are working to build here at Butler, and she is showcasing that by being our staff's first Indiana recruit.
