It's Independence Day, and Gordon Hayward can choose where he wants to play. Has he chosen the Boston Celtics? Some reports say yes; some say not so fast.
Hayward, the former Brownsburg High School and Butler star, has played his first seven NBA seasons with the Utah Jazz, making the All-Star team last season, in which the Jazz won a first-round playoff series.
The Celtics are coached by Brad Stevens, Hayward's coach for two seasons at Butler, one of which ended with the Bulldogs nearly winning the 2010 national championship as Hayward's half-court buzzer-beater rimmed out.
