Butler off to best start since 2008-09 season

INDIANAPOLIS – Kelan Martin came out of his 3-point shooting funk Saturday. He can thank Central Arkansas for that.

Martin foiled a zone defense by sinking five second-half 3s – three of them little more than two minutes apart – and scored a season-high 30 points as No. 18 Butler rolled to an 82-58 victory at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

BOX SCORE: Butler 82, Central Arkansas 58

The Bulldogs (8-0) are off to their best start since also going 8-0 to open the 2008-09 season.

They have a demanding week ahead, with games Wednesday at Indiana State and next Saturday against Cincinnati at Hinkle.
