Butler did not have to wait until the 2018 recruiting class to bring in a point guard.
Aaron Thompson of Fairfax, Va., announced Tuesday that he is committing to the Bulldogs. He was recently released from a letter of intent to attend Pittsburgh.
The news was first reported by Scout’s Evan Daniels and confirmed by IndyStar. Thompson visited Butler’s campus Thursday and picked the Bulldogs after a weekend trip to VCU.
The 6-2 Thompson is not in the top 150 of the 2017 class by Rivals or Scout but is ranked 169th by 247Sports. He averaged 10.
