Wout Weghorst joins Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a season-long loan from Burnley - after bidding an emotional farewell to Man United following an underwhelming Old Trafford spell

Burnley striker Wout Weghorst has joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a season-long loan.

The 31-year-old started last season on loan at Besiktas before joining Manchester United for the latter half of the campaign.

The Netherlands international made 31 appearances for Erik ten Hag's side but failed to secure a permanent move after finding the net on just two occasions.

Weghorst, who was signed by Burnley for £12million in January 2022, bid an emotional farewell to United on Tuesday before his move to Germany was confirmed.

'Dear Man United fans, thanks for everything,' he said in a video posted on Instagram.
