Todd Boehly has broken his silence to plead for patience from Chelsea’s frustrated fans, insisting that the ownership will not change their approach as they remain confident their mega-money signings will transform from ‘individuals’ to a ‘team’ in time.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino likes to use his press conferences to call on supporters to trust the ‘process’ and Boehly echoed that sentiment in a rare interview, published after Saturday's 2-2 draw against 10-man Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Using Forbes magazine to speak rather than the club’s official channels, Boehly said: ‘We just need to let the process develop and give them the time to go from being unbelievable individual players with great skills to fold into a team.
