It’s winner takes all for the Under-23s tomorrow – and that suits boss Steve Stone just fine.
The Clarets face West Bromwich Albion at Curzon Ashton on Friday afternoon (KO 2pm) in the final Group C game in the Premier League Cup.
And both sides know nothing less than victory will take them through to the knock-out stages of the competition after Liverpool’s victory over group leaders Bournemouth lifted them into the second qualifying spot.
“That makes it even better and changes massively how they go for it and how we go for it,” said Stone.
