SABRES SIGN GRANT TO ONE-YEAR DEAL

The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Derek Grant to a one-year, two-way contract.

Grant (6’3”, 202 lbs, 4/20/1990) spent the 2015-16 season in the Calgary Flames’ organization, where he split his time between Calgary and the Stockton Heat (AHL) and was selected to play in the AHL All-Star Challenge. The Abbotsford, British Columbia native ranked third among Heat players with 45 points (27+18) in 36 games and paced the club with 1.25 points per game.

In 40 career NHL games between the Flames and Ottawa Senators, Grant has recorded three assists and six penalty minutes.
