Heading into Thursday night’s Buffalo Sabres season opener, Robin Lehner was preparing to make his debut with his new team — against his former team.
Lehner was traded to Buffalo in the midst of the offseason, on June 26th, along with David Legwand.
Set to be the Buffalo Sabres’ starting goaltender – with Chad Johnson as his backup – Lehner suited up for Thursday’s game, and made his debut — albeit a short one.
Less than halfway through the game, however, Lehner was sidelined with a lower-body injury.
