Two divisional rivals of the Buffalo Sabres completed a shocking, nine-player blockbuster trade Tuesday morning.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators completed the trade just before noon Tuesday, shortly after rumors of a possible deal began to circulate.
The biggest piece moved in the trade: now-former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf.
The Senators have already announced that Phaneuf will wear #2 with his new club.
Also on the move to Ottawa from Toronto: Matt Frattin, Casey Bailey, Ryan Rupert and Cody Donaghey.
