UB Men’s Basketball sophomore Quate McKinzie arrested on several charges

The City of Tonawanda police arrested UB Men’s Basketball sophomore Quate McKinzie on several charges Tuesday night when they responded to an alleged result.

McKinzie was originally charged with second-degree strangulation (Class D felony), third-degree assault (Class A misdemeanor), obstruction of breathing (Class A misdemeanor), and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

On Friday, multiple charges were added to the case: Witness intimidation (by way of felony), criminal contempt (another felony), aggravated harassment, and disobeying a court mandate.

Quate is currently being held without bail and has been suspended indefinitely from the men’s basketball team.
