Brandon Berry, who was a dynamic part of UB’s 2015 defense, has decided to leave the team. According to a note sent to the Buffalo News, and referenced by Mark Gaughan, the decision was Berry’s alone.

UB head coach Lance Leipold told the news that “He’s no longer in the program. It was his decision. He was not dismissed from the team.”

Berry came to Buffalo as the the number 6 rated recruit in the state of Michigan by the service MaxPreps, choosing Buffalo over Cincinnati, Western Michigan, and Eastern Michigan.

Originally a safety Berry was moved to middle linebacker when Jarrett Franklin was injured.
