The Nets played a terrific game in their first game against an NBA opponent this season, defeating the Detroit Pistons 93-83. The Nets looked sharp, even without Joe Johnson, Jarrett Jack, and Bojan Bogdanovic, as they just outplayed the Pistons.
Brook Lopez had a fantastic game, shooting 7-15 from the field and snagging 9 rebounds in just 27 minutes. Lopez has been criticized a lot early in his career for his rebounding, but against the Pistons, he stepped up and produced. Lopez is the unquestioned star of this Nets squad, and with back to back strong games to start the preseason, he looks to be ready to take on that role.
