Nets add Spurs executive to their list of GM candidates

The Nets added San Antonio assistant general manager Sean Marks to their list of candidates for the vacant GM position, The Post has learned.

The 40-year-old Marks — who was drafted by the Knicks in the 1998 draft but earned championship rings as both a player and assistant coach with the Spurs — is the latest protégée from the highly successful tree of Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and general manager R.C. Buford.

Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov is in town with his search committee to conduct interviews. He attended Monday’s win over Denver, plans to attend Wednesday’s game against Memphis, and was expected to interview anywhere from eight to 10 candidates for the general manager position, vacant since he reassigned Billy King on Jan.
