In lone preseason game, L.I. Nets fall to Westchester Knicks

Milton Doyle, the 6’4” shooting guard out of Loyola Chicago, scored 17 points and backcourt mate Isaiah Whitehead had 16 Monday night, but it wasn’t enough for the Long Island Nets to win their lone preseason game, losing to the Westchester Knicks, 109-103, at Nassau Coliseum.

Doyle, who impressed playing for the Nets in summer league, finished 6-of-12 overall, including 3-of-6 from deep. He added two assists, two rebounds and two steals. Whitehead, already on his third assignment in Long Island, shot 6-of-14, including 2-of-6 from three. He turned the ball over once in 25 minutes.
