That certainly was the case this year in East Lansing.
The Michigan State women’s basketball coach and former Bowling Green State University mentor led the Spartans back to the NCAA tournament in her first season with the program. The high-scoring Spartans went 22-9 overall, including 12-6 to finish fourth in the Big Ten Conference, and earned their most wins in a season since going 25-9 in the 2015-16 campaign.
