BOWLING GREEN — Erika Porter tallied 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Amy Velasco chipped in 14 points and eight assists in helping Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team secure a 69-52 Mid-American Conference victory over Ohio on Wednesday at the Stroh Center.
BGSU (12-9, 6-5 MAC) used an 18-4 advantage in the second quarter to take a 38-24 halftime lead. It was similar to the Falcons’ last home game – a 72-54 win over Northern Illinois on Jan. 31 – when BGSU used a 22-2 edge in the second to take control.
BGSU made 7 of 12 shots in the second and held Ohio to just 1 of 13 shooting in the frame.
