Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Mitch McLain and swimmer Maya Skorupski.
Male Athlete of the Week
Mitch McLain, a junior from Baxter, Minn., earned his second hat trick of the season Saturday in a 5-2 win over Lake Superior State. He first goal gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead and his second tally put the Falcons ahead 2-1 after Lake Superior State had tied it up.
