A free public wi-fi service in Dorset has been expanded to boost coverage for fans attending football matches.

The Smart Place programme, delivered by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, has been extended to cover Kings Park and AFC Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium.

The authority said it would help to keep home and away football fans safe and informed on their journeys.

Boscombe Crescent and Churchill Gardens are also now covered by the network.

The scheme previously helped 20 businesses connect during the 2023 Bournemouth Air Festival when they encountered limited local 4G and 5G coverage due to high demand.
