Bournemouth have opened talks with Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.
The 34-year-old, who has an escape clause in his Sunderland deal, is understood to be looking for a three year contract on wages of around £85,000 a week plus a signing on fee.
And he will be well within his rights to ask for such a sizable deal after scoring 15 Premier League goals for the Black Cats, accounting for over half of their 29 strikes.
Crystal Palace have also shown an interest in the forward, whose form earned him a call up to the England squad in March.
