Which team has a brighter future: Cubs or Red Sox?

The Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox, both teams atop their respective leagues entering play Monday, are inextricably linked in baseball history. They're two of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball, playing in the two oldest extant stadiums by nearly half a century, both developing their own mythos about their respective incompetence at winning the World Series. The Red Sox satisfied the shade known as the ghost of former owner (1916-23) Harry Frazee in 2004, while the Cubs have yet to finish their exorcism.

The way it looks now, the two teams could very well meet in the World Series this October .
