Red Sox roster projection

FORT MYERS — Except for making a leaping catch against the wall during his first try in left field this weekend, or suddenly revealing the ability to throw 100 mph with a nasty curveball, there’s nothing more Travis Shaw can do this spring to prove to the Red Sox that he belongs.

Barring some unforeseen incident, he will be on the Opening Day roster and ready to play first base, third base or perhaps left field, depending how his tryout in the new position unfolds.

Shaw is 12-for-25 (.480) with two doubles, two homers and nine RBI in eight games.
