Red Sox option Owens, summon O'Sullivan

Henry Owens will work to improve his control in Triple-A. The Red Sox optioned their former top pitching prospect to Pawtucket on Friday before opening their series against the Yankees in New York. Sean O'Sullivan was recalled in a corresponding move.

The Red Sox won all three of Owens' starts after he was recalled April 24, but they often had to overcome the lefty's struggles to do so. After posting a 4.57 ERA in 63 innings as a rookie in 2015, Owens began the season with Pawtucket and pitched to a 5.11 ERA once summoned to the big leagues.
