The Red Sox came into Sunday’s game hoping for a win to complete the sweep of the Phillies. The Sox had Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound vs. Eickhoff from the Phillies. The game started off well as David Ortiz hit home run 497 in the bottom of the 1st. Rodriguez would get plenty of run support and easily get his 9th win of the season.
The Sox went out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st when David Ortiz hit a 2 run home run. Papi is now sitting at career number 497 and within sight of hitting 500 before the end of the season.
