Minor Lines 5/8/24: Marcelo Mayer Homers Again

The Red Sox struggled to bring guys home Wednesday, just as they did Tuesday. Down on the farm, one pitching staff got shellacked, and two familiar faces in the infield (Enmanuel Valdez and Marcelo Mayer) continued to mash.

Worcester, Game 1: L, 2-11 (BOX SCORE)

Oof, not a good start to the double header. The Buffalo Bison (Jays Triple-A) got to the WooSox early and often. In just seven innings, the WooSox pitching staff allowed twelve hits and five more Bison reached due to walks. It started off with Bryan Van Belle allowing nine runs in four innings, and after that it didn’t really matter what new arrival Ryan Zeferjahn did out of the bullpen.
