Drew Pomeranz arrived at Fenway Park today convinced he’ll be able to make his next start. The Red Sox won’t know for certain until he throws a bullpen on Monday, but early indications are that last night’s back spasms were only a momentary glitch.
“He’s improved today,” manager John Farrell said. “There’s still some soreness to the right, kind of on the right beltline area where the spasms are present. He’s of the mindset that he’s going to be ready to go for a start. He typically throws a side on Day 3 in between the start,s so that will have a lot of bearing on going forward.
