Daisuke Matszuzaka- Things Were No Better in Japan

In a blog in September 2012, I wrote a piece on former Red Sox hurler Daisuke Matsuzaka. It contained the history of his career including his high school years in Japan (a national championship) and his time with the Seibu Lions- rookie of the year, leader in strikeouts. I also mentioned his signing with the Red Sox in 2006 and his up-and-down career with the team. His time with the Sox ended in 2012 with a slash of 1-7/8.28/1.710. He had occasional bouts of wildness. Along the way, he had a number of injuries, including Tommy John surgery.

At the end of 2012, Matsuzaka became a free agent.
