Hanley Ramirez: Bad luck, smart pitching have caused May drought

MINNEAPOLIS -- This is Hanley Ramirez' story and he's sticking to it: Bad luck and smart pitching have caused his month-long dry spell at the plate.

Ramirez went 0-for-3 -- again -- with one walk and one strikeout today in the Red Sox' 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins. Make it 17-for-81 (.210) with a .511 OPS, no homers and one measly RBI in May for the Sox' cleanup hitter and $88 million man.

"I mean, I keep hitting line-drive outs to people. I can't control that," Ramirez said. "And I've been doing that for, I mean, the whole month.
