Clay Buchholz bounces back but Red Sox offense quiet in 4-1 loss to Orioles

Clay Buchholz gave the bounceback performance he absolutely needed on Saturday afternoon.

Coming off the worst outing of his career in which he allowed 10 runs to the Yankees, Buchholz was much better against the Orioles over six innings of two-run ball, but the Red Sox offense was stymied by Chris Tillman in a 4-1 loss.

The Sox had chances, but killed two rallies with a pair of double plays hit into by Daniel Nava and Hanley Ramirez, while the usually-clutch Dustin Pedroia was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts as he left five runners stranded on base.

Despite the loss, the Sox can breath easy knowing Buchholz looked much more polished in this game.
