After positive exam, Hanley Ramirez could resume playing for Red Sox this week

TORONTO -- If Hanley Ramirez' hand isn't feeling appreciably better today, at least his mind is clear.

The results of an MRI exam administered in Boston are consistent with last week's X-ray and CT scan, which showed Ramirez has a badly bruised left hand. The slugging left fielder is en route to rejoining the Red Sox here before tonight's game against the Blue Jays, and if he feels comfortable swinging a bat over the next few days, it's possible he could return to the lineup at some point during the four-game series.

"The optimistic view is that he'd be back in the lineup while we're here in Toronto," manager John Farrell said.
