BOSTON – Alex Newhook was officially named to Canada's 25-man roster for the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship on Friday, becoming the third Eagle ever to represent Boston College at the event.
Newhook will wear No. 15 for Team Canada as it hosts the 2021 tournament from Dec. 25, 2020 to Jan. 5, 2021 in Edmonton, Alberta.
The St. John's, Newfoundland native is the first BC player to earn a spot on Canada's final roster since Dan Bertram, who won a gold medal in 2006 and 2007. Chuck Kobasew also competed for Canada at the 2002 World Junior Championships, winning silver.
