CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Los Angeles Rams selected Boston College defensive back John Johnson in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft Friday night in Philadelphia. Johnson was taken with the 91st pick overall and became the 209th BC player in school history to be selected in the NFL or AFL Draft.
Since 1980, Boston College had had at least one player drafted every year except 2005 and 2013.
Johnson is the second BC defensive back in two years to be taken in the third round of the NFL Draft after Justin Simmons was selected by the Denver Broncos in the 2016 NFL Draft.
