Your Morning Dump… Where Smart might be ready for the opener

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big story line. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

The Celtics still haven’t ruled out the possibility of Marcus Smart (sprained ankle) playing on opening night. He no longer needs a walking boot, according to Stevens, and spent some time in the weight room Saturday.

“He’s not going to practice Monday, but we’ll see how he progresses,” Stevens said.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Smart is no longer in a walking boot and continues to be day-to-day as he receives a steady diet of treatments to help speed up the healing process.
