CHICAGO — Shortly after Derrick Rose took his front-row baseline seat with his son, the “MVP! MVP!” chants boomed throughout the United Center.
Those cheers once were for Rose. Now, they’re showered on Jimmy Butler.
But Rose said sitting in such a prominent spot in a building and sporting city he once owned and hearing those same cheers for someone else wasn’t weird at all. Even if that someone else represented a teammate as recently as last June.
“If I was by myself, it might be a little bit weird. But I’m with him,” Rose said, pointing to P.
