Danny Ainge: Isaiah Thomas 'does not have a broken jaw'

WASHINGTON -- Celtics coach Brad Stevens and team president Danny Ainge were both surprised by a WEEI report this morning that Isaiah Thomas is suffering from a broken jaw.

“He does not have a broken jaw,” said Ainge. “The jaw is for chewing and eating and moving, and (Thomas) is doing that.”

The guard, who had dental surgery prior to scoring 53 points in the Celtics’ Game 2 win, had an issue at halftime of Game 3, when he was late coming out for the second half while having his dental work adjusted. According to Ainge, a temporary bridge installed during surgery broke, forcing Thomas to return to the locker room, when the bridge was glued back together.
