WALTHAM — Leave it to Isaiah Thomas to create bigger waves with his deadline week emoji tweets than anything Danny Ainge was able to pull off yesterday.
On Monday, while watching TV according to the Celtics guard, Thomas sent out a bug eyes emoji, identical to the one he tweeted just prior to the team’s signing of Al Horford last summer.
On Wednesday, he tweeted an hourglass emoji.
“Time is ticking, man,” he said yesterday after the Celtics’ first post-All-Star break practice. Thomas then tweeted again, this time with a wristwatch — the Celtics guard has the NBA cornered on telling people what time it is — and finally an emptied hourglass.
