Celtics Clinch No. 1 Seed In Eastern Conference With Cavs' Loss To Raptors

The Boston Celtics didn't need to win their game tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks (they won 112-94) to secure the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference thanks to the Toronto Raptors beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 98-83 Wednesday night.

The opponents the Celtics and Cavs will play is still not clear. The Pacers, Heat and Bulls have yet to finish their games which will determine the seeding of the bottom two teams. If the Pacers win, they'll get the No. 7 seed and face the Cavs.

Both the Cavs and Raptors were without key starters, namely LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and DeMar DeRozan. With DeRozan out, Norman Powell shined. He put up 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting.

With the Big Three out for the Cavs, they simply struggled to score. J.R. Smith took nine shots, but made just one en route to 3 points. The Cavs did make a comeback effort: they trailed by 19 at the half, but cut the lead down to 11 with six minutes to play. But, the Raptors pulled away in the final few minutes.
