Top 3 Celtics Storylines For The 2015 NBA Offseason

We’re in the beginning stages of the Boston Celtics' offseason preparations, and there are plenty of plots and subplots to follow on the road to the NBA Draft and July’s free agent push. Here’s the Top 3 Celtics Storylines For The 2015 NBA Offseason.

3) How will Boston attack the draft?

Boston has two first-round and three second-round picks in this years draft, and with a wealth of young pieces already in the mix, the Celtics could be an active trade suitor in the waning moments leading up to Thursday's draft. They could also go the opposite route, utilizing all or most of their picks and continuing the rebuilding process with cheap, controllable rookie talent. Expect the trade rumors to come fast and furious until the Celtics' final pick is made.

2) Who's ready to take over a leadership role?

Brad Stevens did one heck of a job molding the young Celtics into a fireball of on-court effort in 2014-15. However, this offseason will be about separating athletic potential/gifts from leadership capabilities and finding out whether or not guys like Marcus Smart and Tyler Zeller have that extra gear to become the go-to guys in the locker room to go with their work on the court. The Celtics may bring in veterans out of house to supplement the mixture, but this is still a huge offseason for the overall growth of the team's youthful talent base.

1. What do the trade & free agency markets have in store for Boston?

Boston has trade assets upon trade assets to spare with a enviable mixture of stockpiled draft picks and talented young players to their credit. Whether it's the rumors swirling that the team could target Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins or the plethora of top-tier talent to choose from that's slated to hit free agency on July 1st, the Celtics have ammunition to make things happen and turn a 2015 playoff berth into a deep run next time out. Will Danny Ainge pull the trigger(s)?
