Celtics News: Kelly Olynyk Close To Return For Boston

Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk had his first full workout since January 22 on Sunday, indicating he's close to returning from his ankle injury he suffered against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“Getting better,” Olynyk said. “Going through some more motions now. It’s feeling a little bit better each day, but sometimes you have some setbacks. You go hard, and the next day you’re sore, a little less able to do stuff. I’m just trying to get more consistent on it and be able to trust it, and trust that you’re able to help your team.”

Head coach Stevens said he doesn't anticipate problems figuring out the rotation when Olynyk returns despite the strong play of newly-acquired Jonas Jerebko.

“We’ve got to think about what’s best for us going into every game and play the guys you feel like give you the best chance of winning,” Stevens said. “And you know, obviously some of that sometimes is depending on matchups, who you’re playing against, and how you can best attack them. But I think we have to be conscious of the guys who have played, especially those second-unit guys who have played really, really well the last few games.”
